Seven killed in Naxal landmine blast

Seven persons were killed when the private vehicle they were travelling on was blown up by Maoists in a landmine blast in Bihar’s Aurangabad district on Thursday. The incident took place near Pisai village under the Khudwa police station around 6 p.m. The sports utility vehicle (SUV) was carrying Susha Pandey, zilla parishad member, her husband Sushil Pandey and others. While Mr. Pandey was killed in the attack, the names of the other deceased are being verified.

Mr. Pandey has several criminal cases against him and he was recently out on bail. He is also said to have had links with the Ranvir Sena, Bihar Director General of Police Abhayanand told The Hindu .

The cause of the attack is not yet known.
