Bollywood actor and 1993 Mumbai blast convict Sanjay Dutt was released on a month-long parole from the Yerawada Jail here on Saturday morning. Jail Superintendent Yogesh Desai confirmed that following the official formalities, Dutt left for Mumbai along with a relative.

Pune Divisional Commissioner Prabhakar Deshmukh’s decision to grant parole in the first week of December was met with allegations of partial treatment to the actor. Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil had said he would make a statement in the winter session of the Assembly.
