Sand sculptor to represent India at Moscow championship

Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik from Orissa has been selected to represent India at the 2nd Moscow World Sand Sculpture Championship beginning on April 28.

Mr. Pattnaik, who has been invited by the chairman of the selection committee, told PTI that he would carve a 2.50-meter sculpture on the theme of World cinema at the championship venue, Kolomenskoe Museum Reserve in Moscow.

“I am very happy to get the invitation to represent India in the World championship. I will try my best,” he said.

Mr. Pattnaik has received many international awards including the World Championship at Berlin in 2008 and runs a sand art school at Puri.
