A number of Samajwadi Party Parliamentary Board members on Wednesday pitched for state president Akhilesh Yadav as the Chief Minister.

The party parliamentary board members, who met on Wednesday morning to discuss the issue, aired their views in favour of the youth face of the party Mr. Akhilesh for CM’s post, party sources said.

However, the final decision would be taken in this regard by party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, who will be holding a meeting with newly-elected legislators later in the day.

“Majority of MLAs are in favour of making Mr. Akhilesh the next CM. At the meeting of legislators, they will put in their views on the issue,” party national General Secretary Naresh Agarwal told PTI .
