Russia can partner with Rajasthan in development of infrastructure, mineral extraction, urban planning, pollution control, defence manufacturing and heavy machinery and engineering sectors, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said.
Addressing a business seminar on new industrialisation and industrial cooperation organised by Russia-India Business Forum at Yekaterinburg on Tuesday during her visit to Russia, Ms. Raje emphasised that the infrastructure requirements in the desert State were growing with economic development.
According to official sources here, Ms. Raje also held a meeting with the head of government of the Sverdlovsk Oblast region, D.V. Pasler, and the local business delegates.
The Chief Minister said Rajasthan and Sverdlovsk could complement each other in engineering and mining sectors. About 150 companies were already manufacturing automotive components in the State and mutual cooperation could further strengthen these sectors, she said.
Discussing the possibilities in defence manufacturing sector, Ms. Raje said Russia was the second largest exporter in the world, while India was a big consumer. She invited Russian defence manufacturing companies for investment in Rajasthan, saying it was a priority sector and large tracts of land as well as testing grounds could be provided in the State.
