Opposition legislators shout anti-government slogans during the winter session of the Bihar Assembly in Patna on November 29, 2017.

For the third consecutive day, Opposition parties created a ruckus in the Bihar Assembly on Wednesday over the “deteriorating law and order situation, corruption and scams hitting the State every other day”. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s tweet taking dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad also invited a series of tweets against Mr. Kumar while Leader of Opposition Tejaswi Yadav exchanged a war of words with Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi inside the House.

The pandemonium began in the House after Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhury rejected notice of an adjournment motion by RJD MLA Lalit Yadav and Congress leaders Ramdeo Rai and Vijay Shanker Dubey, saying the House had important business to transact. Leader of Opposition Tejaswi Yadav requested the Speaker to admit the motion since it concerned an important issue but when the Speaker did not relent, Opposition legislators trooped into the well of the House and created a ruckus. Later, the protesting MLAs staged a walkout.
