RPI reiterates demand for Cabinet berth

However, the BJP has only promised a berth in the State cabinet, which is expected to be expanded soon.

Demanding a Ministerial berth in the Union Cabinet, leader of the Republican Party of India (RPI), one of the alliance partners of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Saturday said the BJP must not betray the party the way Congress did.

“The BJP has given us a written commitment that it will accommodate us in the Union Cabinet. I am not interested in Maharashtra State Ministry. They must not go back on their word,” said Mr. Athawale, after a State committee meeting of the RPI here.

However, the BJP has only promised a berth in the State cabinet, which is expected to be expanded soon.
