RJD leader, wife shot dead in Bihar

RJD Saran district vice-president Janardan Singh and his wife were shot dead by unidentified assailants last night, triggering protests by locals who blocked the Chapra-Tajpur National Highway.

Police said on Monday that four gunmen stormed their house at Manjhi in Saran district and shot dead Singh and his wife Prabhawati Devi.

Old enmity was stated to be the reason behind the killing, they said.

Local people blocked the Chapra-Tajpur National Highway 19 near Manjhi in protest.
