Repoll peaceful in Bihar

Repolling passed off peacefully at one booth in Bibhutipur Assembly constituency in Samastipur district and another at Kaswa (West) under Dhaka Assembly constituency in East Champaran district in Bihar.

“No untoward incidents were reported during voting at the two booths,” official sources said.

While 40.46 per cent of the voters participated in the repoll in Bibhutipur, 54.42 per cent voters cast their vote in Dhaka during the repoll which was conducted amid tight security, sources said.

The Election Commission ordered repoll at the two polling stations, following complaints of electoral malpractices during polling held on October 21.

Repoll was held at polling station 90(A) in Narhanrai Patti village of Vibhutipur Assembly constituency in Samastipur district and polling station 29 in Kaswa (West) locality of Dhaka Assembly constituency in East Champaran district, they said.
