Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told the party’s Rajya Sabha member Derek O’Brien here on Monday that her government might have committed a couple of mistakes in the last two years it has been in power, but was willing to learn from them.

“In the last 2 years, there have been hundreds of examples of development in Bengal. We also may have made two or three mistakes. But we will learn from our mistakes in the New Year,” Mr. O’Brien said.

He had called on Ms. Banerjee on the first day of the Bengali calendar. Ms. Banerjee, who was admitted to a nursing home immediately on her return from New Delhi last week, was discharged on April 13, but has been advised rest for two weeks.

Mr. O’Brien did not elaborate on the “mistakes” that the Trinamool government has committed.
