After Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav and BJP leader Babulal Gaur, now is the turn of Chhattisgarh Home Minister Ramsevak Paikara who termed the rape as "a crime that is not done intentionally”.

When some reporters asked Mr. Paikara to comment on a spate of incidents that Chhattisgarh witnessed in last two days Mr. Paikara said, “Nobody commits such incidents(rape) intentionally, it happens by mistake”.

Realizing his mistake, the home minister tried to correct himself and said, “Such incidents are condemnable and Chhattisgarh government is acting swiftly in such cases”.

Chhattisgarh witnessed four cases of rape in the last 48 hours, two of which were gang rapes.

The Home Minister drew flak from opposition with the state Congress condemning the incident and demanding apology from Mr. Paikara.

Raipur district Congress president Vikas Upadhyay declared that his party would launch a protest against the Home Minister’s “insensitive and irresponsible” statements.
