The Congress is ready for an open debate with former Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on any issue, senior Congress leader and Union Minister V. Narayanasamy said here on Thursday.

“We are ready for an open debate. Let him (Mr Rangasamy) openly tell the public about the schemes that he introduced during his tenure. We will spell out the schemes initiated during the tenure of V. Vaithilingam and let the public decide who has delivered. I challenge him for an open debate,” he said addressing the Mahila Congress workers here.

Listing out the schemes initiated during the tenure of Mr. Vaithilingam, he said the present government was able to “implement all the schemes” as they were able to get funds from the Centre. “Mr. Rangasamy never tried to get funds from the Centre. He was hesitant to speak to Union Ministers,” Mr. Narayanasamy said.

President of All India Mahila Congress Prabha Thakur urged the party members to highlight the achievement of the territorial administration and Union government. She urged the workers to strive hard to bring back the Congress government in the Union Territory. Home Minister E. Valsaraj and chief of Pradesh Congress Committee A.V. Subramanian also addressed the gathering.
