Raje, BJP workers court arrest in Jaipur

Police prevent them from visiting Raj Bhavan to present memorandum

A number of BJP leaders, including the former Rajasthan Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje, on Wednesday courted arrest when they were stopped by the police from heading towards the Raj Bhavan here.

Nearly 300 BJP workers began a march from the party office to submit to the Governor a representation, addressed to the President, demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss the black money issue.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Jose Mohan said: “The BJP activists were stopped because taking out a procession in the area is not permissible...”
