A day after CBI gave a clean chit to independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias ‘Raja Bhaiya’ in DSP Zia-ul-Haq’s murder case, the former UP minister on Friday met SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav fuelling speculations about his re-induction as minister in the government.

Raja Bhaiya met Yadav at his residence this morning and left within half-an-hour, sources said.

During the meeting, the former UP minister clarified his position before the SP chief, claiming that a conspiracy was hatched against him to defame the government, they said.

Raja Bhaiya held Prisons, Food and Civil supplies department as cabinet minister in Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s government before resigning after the DSP’s murder. When asked about the visit, party spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury said that Singh from the very beginning claimed to be innocent and the CBI report has corroborated it.

About chances of his re-induction as minister, Chowdhury said that the party supremo will decide on it.
