The rainfall also improved power situation in the region, officials said.

Chandigarh received 36.2 mm of rains whereas Ludhiana had 27.6 mm rains, the MeT office said here.
Among other places, Patiala was drenched by 12.6 mm rains followed 11 mm each at Gurgaon and Narnaul.
While Nangal Dam had 8.8 mm of rains, Kalka received 8 mm of rains.
Morni had 7 mm of rains followed two mm each at Panchkula and Shahpur Kandi.
Ambala in Haryana had maximum 63.5 mm of rains, the MeT said.
Rains brought cheers to the face of farmers as it is considered beneficial for the paddy crop, officials said.
Hisar settled at a minimum of 27.1 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal, followed by 25 degrees Celsius at Narnaul, two notch below normal.
While Amritsar had a low of 23.4 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, followed by 23.3 degrees Celsius at Patiala, three notches below normal.
Among other places, Ambala had a low of 22.8 degrees celsius, three notches below normal followed by 22.2 degrees Celsius at Chandigarh, three notches below normal.
Ludhiana had a low of 21.7 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal followed by 22.1 degrees Celsius at Rohtak, five notches below normal.
The MeT forecast partly cloudy sky with possibility of rains during the next two days.
