Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday cancelled his electioneering in Arunachal Pradesh as his helicopter failed to take off from Lilabari airport in neighbouring Assam because of inclement weather.

According to AICC general secretary in-charge of Arunachal Pradesh V Narayansami, Mr. Rahul informed him over phone from Lilabari that his helicopter could not take off due to cloudy weather.

Mr. Narayansami said Mr. Gandhi has expressed his regrets for cancellation of his rally here and at Yachuli on Tuesday.
