Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will kick off his “Mission UP 2012” here on Monday by addressing a gathering of 600 youths.

Youth Congress president Ashok Tanwar told reporters here that Mr. Gandhi, who would be touring different parts of the state on December 7, would address 600 youth who have been shortlisted in district.

Mr. Tanwar, on a visit to the district to make preparations for Mr. Rahul’s scheduled visit, said a process of internal democracy has been initiated in the Youth Congress and those who come up in the youth wing will also get preference in ticket allocation in elections.

“Ten office bearers each with a tenure of two years each would be elected at the centre, state, Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha constituency wise and they would also get preference in ticket allocation in future elections,” Mr. Tanwar added.
