Protest near Lalu’s residence

October 03, 2010 04:20 pm | Updated 04:20 pm IST - Patna

Supporters of RJD leader Ritlal Yadav staged a demonstration near party chief Lalu Prasad’s residence here to protest the denial of ticket to him in the coming State assembly polls.

They shouted anti-Prasad slogans for apparently ignoring Mr. Yadav’s claim over RJD nomination from Danapur seat and reportedly giving the ticket to one Sachchidanand Yadav, who they alleged was a man with deep pocket but little known among the party’s workers of the area.

The protesters demanded that Mr. Prasad should reconsider the party’s candidate from Danapur seat in favour of Mr. Ritlal Yadav, who they claimed had nursed the constituency.

The protesters, however, could not force their way towards Mr. Prasad’s official residence - 10, Circular Road, due to the presence of policemen manning security of the high-profile area.
