Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed warned on Saturday that strict action would be taken against “elements who wave Pakistani flags in the State.”

Mr. Sayeed’s reaction came a day after Pakistani flags were waved at a rally organised by Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Tral town in south Kashmir on Friday.

The PDP ruled out any engagement with those “waving Pakistani flags” in Kashmir. “It is not because of our alliance with the BJP, but because of our belief in the Indian Constitution that we cannot accept pro-Pakistani flags and pro-Pakistani sentiment,” PDP chief spokesperson Naeem Akhtar told The Hindu .
