President Pratibha Patil is likely to be in Gujarat for five days from September 30 and visit as many as six districts besides the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi.

Her schedule is still being finalised and if there is no change at the last moment, the President would arrive in Ahmedabad on September 30, official sources said here on Thursday.

According to the tentative plan, Ms. Patil would attend various programmes in the districts before moving to Saurashtra on October 2, they said.

On October 2, Gandhi’s birth anniversary, the President is likely to attend a prayer meeting in Porbandar before moving to Junagadh district, Collector Ashwini Kumar said.

Ms. Patil would also attend a lion show at Gir and visit the temple town of Somnath, the sources said.
