With 12 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs arrested so far, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting at his residence on Sunday evening with his MLAs and leaders.

As per sources, the meeting was attended by 55 MLAs and was was called to discuss future plans to tackle the arrests and the precautions to be taken.

In an almost hour-long meeting, Mr. Kejriwal asked his legislators to be careful, “as the police can arrest them on any charges,” said an MLA, who did not wish to be named.

The MLAs have been asked to install CCTVs in their offices and employ women staff.

“Some MLAs have also suggested having a separate grievance section for women in their office,” said another MLA.

The move comes after the arrest of four AAP MLAs, in the last two months, for allegedly either molesting or threatening to kill a woman.

The party is also thinking of protesting against the Delhi Police and the Centre for arresting their MLAs on ‘spurious charges’.

“We were told to record conversations when meeting the public (particularly women) outside the office as the police can implicate us in any case,” said an MLA.

‘Like freedom fighters’

Mr. Kejriwal, repeating what he had said in his 9 minute and 47 seconds video, told the gathering that they need to prepare their families for the worse. “He said that we are like freedom fighters during the British Rule in India and we will be going to jail just as Bhagat Singh did,” said another MLA.
