Prayer meets are planned at various places across the city on Monday for the speedy recovery and well-being of social activist Anna Hazare, who was admitted to Pune's Sancheti Hospital late on Saturday night for chest congestion.
Mr. Hazare was earlier convinced to call off his fast on the Lokpal issue at the city's Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority ground on the second day of the protest last week, after his health started deteriorating.
“Nation is worried”
“The entire country is worried for Anna. People all over the nation are praying for him. We have organised prayer meetings at six places in Mumbai on Monday,” Mayank Gandhi, co-ordinator of India Against Corruption (IAC), told The Hindu.
“We have not been able to talk to him. But I had a word with Arvind Kejriwal. He has said it is ok to go ahead with the prayer meetings,” Mr. Gandhi said.
“We are expecting hundreds of volunteers to come for the prayer meets tomorrow [on Monday] at 5.30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Gandhi book depot on Grant Road, the IAC office at Chakala, and some private places on Mira Road, Kurla, Thane station and Vashi,” Preeti Sharma Menon, an IAC volunteer, said.
Mr. Hazare, who called off the jail bharo andolan and protest, accused the government of failing to bring in a strong Lokpal Bill.
He blamed the Congress for it and said he would campaign against it in the coming elections.

Anna is a old man and he is sick. he says, he will be fine soon and told his followers not to worry. instead, TV channels and news papers give unnecessary coverage for a simple sickness. it is time we get on with our lives and focus on other issues and people. don't feed us with too much Anna in 2012. some of us are fed up.
