The Election Commission filed a case against the daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad, Misa Bharti, the party candidate for the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat, for allegedly disturbing the poll process. “Misa Bharti entered polling centre number 34 of the Bikram Assembly segment of the Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency with her bodyguards. An FIR has been registered against her for this,” Additional Chief Electoral Officer R. Lakshmanan told presspersons.

Mr. Lakshmanan said the electronic voting machine at the polling centre was damaged after Ms. Bharti left the place. She, in turn, registered a case at the Bihta police station, levelling booth capture and misbehaviour charges against those present at the booth.
