The Goa Police have got in touch with Facebook authorities as the absconding former Goa Minister Mickky Pacheco changed his profile on the social networking site with a new photograph of his on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Karthik Kashyap, told The Hindu on Friday that soon after noticing the new profile, the police made a request to Facebook.

Pacheco resigned as Minister after the Supreme Court upheld a Bombay High Court order sentencing him to imprisonment for six months for assault on a junior engineer of the State Electricity Department.

He has been on the run for nearly a month and a half.

Aires Rodrigues, an activist-lawyer, filed an affidavit before Additional District Judge, South Goa, P.V. Sawaikar on Friday giving the sequence of events in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao, Bosco Roberts, that led to the issuance of a warrant to search for Pacheco at the official residence of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in New Delhi. Judge Sawaikar is scheduled to pronounce his order on May 27 on the revision petition filed by the Goa government challenging the search warrant.
