Police, Maoists exchange fire in Gadchiroli

The police exchanged fire with Maoists near Murgel village in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Sunday.

District police and Central Reserve Police Force personnel were carrying out a combing operation in the area when Naxals opened fire.

The militants escaped when the jawans retaliated.

Two detonators and explosives were found near the spot, Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Shrirame said.

There was no report of any casualty, he said.
