The Revolutionary People’s Front has claimed responsibility for the three bomb blasts and gun attacks on Sunday morning at Khudengthabi. In the ambush, one 8 Manipur Rifles trooper was killed and 10 others, including some engineers and drivers of the Public Works Department, were injured. In a statement, the outfit said the strike was carried out by its military wing, the People’s Liberation Army.

It claimed that its policy of not attacking State forces remained unchanged. The PLA insurgents were after the Assam Rifles personnel who were in the camp just 300 metres away. The outfit also claimed that it had carried out the blast at Sekmai market on Sunday. Two CRPF personnel and some civilians were injured.
