Altogether 1,03,696 displaced Bodos and Adivasis have returned to Assam over the past four days since December 31, bringing down the total number of inmates in relief camps in Assam’s four violence-hit districts of Kokrajhar, Sonitpur, Chirang and Udalguri to 1,82,574 on Saturday.

The number of camps has also come down to 102 with 13 camps closed over the past 24 hours. The terror attacks on Adivasi villages by militants of National Democratic Front of Boroland (Songbijit) and subsequent retaliatory violence by miscreants coupled with rumour mongering triggered the huge exodus in the four districts.
