One person was killed and four others injured on Sunday when suspected insurgents of the anti-talk NDFB (Songbijit) faction exploded two grenades and fired indiscriminately at Molandubi Market in Assam’s Kokrajhar district. Six militants opened fire at a pharmacy killing its owner Motleb Sekh (25) on the spot.

Agitated people tried to catch the militants who then lobbed five grenades, injuring four persons, police said.

Those injured are Iman Ali, Amir Ali, Noseruddin Mandal and Nasok Chandra Marak. The police and the CRPF, which rushed to the spot, seized three unexploded grenades.
