One person was killed and four were injured during a clash between Haridwar truck union and guards of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Food and Herbal Park in Haridwar, on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Daljeet Singh who was into transportation business.

Ramdev's brother Ram Bharat has been arrested and few others have been detained for questioning, Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Sweety Agrawal said.

"Ram Bharat has been charged with instigating the clash. He has been arrested and few others have been detained for questioning," Ms Agrawal said. An FIR has been registered in Haridwar's Pathri police station.

Ms. Agarwal said the incident occurred because of differences between the Patanjali administration and the members of the local truck union.

"While the local truck union members wanted transportation jobs for themselves, the administration of Patanjali Food and Herbal Park said the jobs would be given to the transportation firm, which would offer services at cheaper rates. This was the reason behind the clash," Ms Agarwal said.
