Three office-bearers of GCA arrested for swindling

Three office-bearers of Goa Cricket Association (GCA) were arrested by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Goa Police here on Wednesday for opening a fake account and swindling around Rs.3.3 crores given to GCA by Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI). Those arrested are Chetan Desai, Vinod Fadke and Akbar Mulla.

Superintendent of Police in-charge of EOW Priyanka Kashyap told The Hindu that they were arrested based on a first information report lodged by Mr. Vilas Desai of GCA. When the alleged crime happened Mr.Fadke was president of GCA, Mr.Desai was secretary and Mr. Mulla was treasurer, the complaint said.

They will be produced before a local court here on Thursday seeking police remand, she said.
