Noida engineer Yadav Singh suspended

I-T sleuths recover huge cache of unaccounted money, jewellery on Yadav Singh’s properties

More than a week after a huge cache of unaccounted money and jewellery was recovered in multiple raids conducted by the income tax authorities on various properties of Engineer-in-Chief of Noida Authority Yadav Singh, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday suspended him and ordered a departmental inquiry against him.

Even as the net widened against Mr. Singh with Enforcement Directorate, Special Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Corporate Affairs Ministry have also been told to look into his various dealings, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav took almost 10 days to act against Mr. Singh, who also held charge as engineering department head in Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities also for a brief period.

“A departmental inquiry has also been ordered against Yadav Singh which would be conducted by Chief Executive Officer of Noida authority,” a government spokesperson said.

On the first day of the raids, cash worth Rs. 10 crore and jewellery worth crores recovered from various lockers of Mr. Singh and his wife.

Moreover, his wife, Kusumlata, had several firms registered in her name that held almost 50 plots in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authority fake shareholdings.
