A no-confidence motion moved by main opposition Congress against the Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank government in Uttarakhand was rejected amid pandemonium in the State Assembly on Friday.

When the House met for the day, the opposition members created a din during the Question Hour and trooped into the well on the issue.

Amid noisy scenes, Speaker Harbans Kapoor asked members supporting the motion to raise their hands.

Since all the Congress members were in the well, there was nobody to raise their hands from the seat and the Speaker, finding no support for the motion, rejected it.
