‘No need for President’s Rule’

The Congress on Sunday described as unacceptable the demand for President’s Rule in Assam made by the Opposition and some other organisations following the recent massacres by the NDFB(S). Pradesh Congress Committee president Anjan Dutta told presspersons that law and order in Assam improved after the Congress came to power over a decade ago.

After Congress came to power in Assam, people can now be safely out till 2 am in the morning. Under such circumstances the demand for President’s Rule is unacceptable,” Dutta asserted.
