Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will go on a 24-hour fast at the JD(U) headquarters here on Saturday to protest against the NDA government’s Land Acquisition Bill.

The party MPs, MLAs and other leaders will head the protest in their constituencies across the State, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar told The Hindu .

Mr. Nitish Kumar had called the Bill a “black law,” demanding that it be scrapped immediately and vowed not to implement it in the State. Pointing to the changes the Centre made in the law, he had said: “The soul of the land acquisition legislation prepared in 2013 by the UPA government has been taken out.”
