Lok Jan Shakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan said here on Saturday that the resignation of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was a “drama.” Mr. Kumar was left with no option as there was rebellion in the Janata Dal(U), he added.

Mr. Paswan said that the people of Bihar had rejected the Rashtriya Janata Dal, led by Lalu Prasad, and the JD(U), and the next government in the State would be of the National Democratic Alliance.

He said the two parties would contest the Bihar Assembly election in alliance. “Nitish Kumar’s resignation is good riddance for the people of Bihar, who have rejected both RJD chief Lalu Prasad and the JD(U). This is a good omen for Bihar,” Mr. Paswan, who had fought the last Lok Sabha election in alliance with the RJD and drawn a blank, said.

To questions whether his party or the NDA would try to form a government in Bihar now, Mr. Paswan said he had “not applied his mind to it” as yet and it was for the State leaders of the alliance to take a call on it.
