Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday junked the exit poll predictions, saying only counting of votes would reveal the mandate.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in the Legislative Council, Mr. Kumar sidestepped questions on the projections for Bihar, including that of the Janata Dal (United), saying it would be better to wait for the counting of votes on May 16.
His State unit president Bashist Narain Singh too dismissed the poor projections for his party and said the results would throw a surprise.
Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi too did not comment on the predictions.
PCC president Ashok Choudhary, who took oath as a member of the Legislative Council on Tuesday, rejected the claims of the exit polls and said the result would show that the RJD-Congress-NCP alliance performed handsomely.
He said the Congress benefited from its alliance with the RJD and had the tie-up been accomplished much earlier, the two parties would have looked forward to getting more seats.
