Nine more die of swine flu in Rajasthan, toll mounts to 295

Nine more deaths due to swine flu were reported in Rajasthan in the last 24 hours, taking the toll due to the H1N1 virus to 295 in the State.

As many as 5,822 people have been tested positive for the swine flu from January 1 to March 4 out of total sample collection of 15,986, according to a report by the medical and health department issued on Thursday.

As per the report, 295 persons have died across the State with maximum 55 deaths occurring in the State capital.

An official of medical and health department said that the task force headed by Dr. Ashok Panagaria held a meeting at Swasthya Bhawan in Jaipur on Wednesday evening and reviewed the situation.

The task force, set up by the State government, has also directed authorities to remain vigilant and continue to create awareness among the people, he said.
