Nine killed in road accident in J&K

Eight Nepalese were among nine persons who were today killed in a road accident on Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Kangan area of Ganderal district in Kashmir Valley, officials said here.

The accident occurred when a taxi, on its way to Srinagar from Kargil, in which the victims were travelling skided off the road and fell into a gorge at Ganiwan in Kangan area, 65 kms from Srinagar, they said.

In the mishap nine persons, including eight Nepalese, died on the spot, they said, adding a Nepalese was also injured in the incident.
