The National Investigation Agency on Saturday conducted kurki-japti (legal attachment of movable property) of fugitive Indian Mujahideen operative Tehseen Akhtar alias Monu at his residence in Bihar’s Samastipur district, the police said.
“The NIA had issued advertisement against him, but when he did not surrender as per the legal procedure the agency sought a court order for attachment of his property,” the Samastipur police said.
Akhtar is a resident of Maniyarpur in Samastipur. His house is under joint ownership of several family members. All the movable assets in the house, including utensils, bed, window grills and a gate were attached in the presence of the village head.
Akhtar is a suspect in Patna and Bodh Gaya serial blasts. He has also been named as a wanted accused in the charge sheet of the July 13 triple blast case in Mumbai. Figuring on the list of wanted persons of the NIA, there is a non-bailable warrant against him.
