Naxals killed two villagers of Tambda village in Etapalli tehsil of Gadchiroli district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Baju Murra Gota (60) and his son Raju Gota(32).

Around 40 to 50 Naxals attacked the house of Baju Murra Gota in Tambda village at around 3 am on Thursday and started beating him and his son Raju. After that the Naxals killed them by AK 47s, said Gadchiroli police.

According to Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police (SP) Suvez Haque, this is not the case of a police informer being killed by the outlaws.

“In this case, it seems that there was a dispute between the son and Naxals. When Naxals came to kill the son, his father tried to resist them, so he was also killed” SP Suvez Haque told The Hindu over phone.

“Both the father and the son were killed by using firearms and the father had some injuries on his head probably caused by some other sharp weapons” he added.

According to some sources, the father-son duo was killed by Kasansur and Surajgad Dalam of Naxals.
