Naxals gun down SRPF jawan

Alleged Naxals gunned down a jawan of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) in Gadchiroli district on Thursday morning.

SRPF jawan Ramkobal Ramdavar Pandey (50) was on his way to a shop at Fulbodi Gatta village in Dhanora taluk, when “a Naxal action team fired at him. The police pursued them, but they [Naxals] escaped into the jungles,” the district control room said.

Mr. Pandey was taken to the local civil hospital where he was declared dead.
