Navy’s AIDS awareness motor rally from tomorrow

The Indian Navy will hold a Trans-Himalayan AIDS awareness motor rally from Goa to Leh and back to Mumbai, from Wednesday.

The rally will be flagged off from INS Hansa at Dabolim in south Goa on Wednesday. A 32 member team including lady officers are participating in the rally for 24 arduous days.

The team is divided into two groups and the rally will cover a distance of over 8,000 kms. Mahindra & Mahindra has sponsored three Scorpios and one Bolero and the fuel is sponsored by Indian Oil Corporation, said an official of Navy here.

The participants of the rally have been specially trained by Goa State AIDS Control Agency, to spread AIDS Awareness.

The rally will contribute towards the social cause of AIDS Awareness along the route.
