Narendra Amin file temporary bail plea

December 02, 2010 01:38 am | Updated 01:38 am IST - AHMEDABAD:

The suspended Deputy Superintendent of Gujarat police, Narendra Amin, an accused in the Sohrabuddin-Kausarbi murder case, has sought temporary bail to attend to his ailing wife who requires medical attention.

Mr. Amin, whose application to turn an approver in the case is pending before the court, moved the bail application on Wednesday in the special CBI court of G. K. Upadhyaya.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the Central Bureau of Investigation and others on the bail application of the owner of the Arham Bungalows, Rajendra Jirawala, who challenged the CBI court's order rejecting his bail plea.

Mr. Jirawala, who has been charged with criminal conspiracy for illegal detention and murder — as Kausarbi was believed to had been kept in his bungalow on the outskirts of Gandhinagar before her elimination — had pleaded innocence claiming that during the period he was away in Mehsana to attend a marriage and had no knowledge what went on in his farm house.

The High court has fixed the next hearing on his bail plea on December 13.
