Senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka, who had exposed the DLF-Vadra land deal, has in a series of tweets stated that while his action in the land-licence deal stands “vindicated” in the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General which was presented in Haryana Assembly on Wednesday, he continues “to suffer the stigma of charge sheet.”

Lamenting that “real culprits sit in judgment over me,” Mr. Khemka hoped that that “my pain and suffering may help to detox and cleanse the body politic.”

Mr. Khemka who had taken on the previous Congress government led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda on the issue of grant of licence to Robert Vadra’s Skylight Hospitality Pvt Limited has written that “black-marketing of licences and permits to cronies is loot of public wealth” and questioned, “will action be taken against the black-marketers?”

A 1991 batch IAS officer who is now serving as Commissioner and Secretary in the Transport Department of Haryana Government, Mr. Khemka had as Haryana’s Director-General of Land Consolidation and Land Records-cum-Inspector-General of Registration brought into the open the corruption in land conversion in Gurgaon and ordered scrapping of the Skylight-DLF deal.

While the CAG report has indicted the Haryana government for showing favours to Skylight Hospitality, Mr. Khemka has tweeted that “many issues untouched in CAG Report. Cycle of corruption involved the triad - business, politics and bureaucracy.”
