Muzaffarnagar riots: Judicial custody for gangrape accused extended

A local court has extended the judicial custody of an accused, involved in Muzaffarnagar riots related gangrape case, till April 21.

Chief judicial magistrate Narendra Kumar on Monday extended judicial custody of Roki till April 21. He was arrested on March 25 in connection with six riot cases, including a gangrape case, during the riots.

Roki was among 22 people issued non-bailable warrant for their alleged involvement in five incidents of gangrape during the violence.

The accused has been booked in five cases for murder, gangrape, looting and rioting in Phugana village of the district, Special Investigation Team sources said.
