To give a boost to the tourism sector, which has seen a dip since the June 2013 disaster, a winter festival at Mussoorie will be organised from December 25 to 30.

Addressing the media on Saturday, Dehradun District Magistrate Chandresh Yadav said the Mussoorie Winterline Carnival 2014, which would showcase performances by some national and regional artists, would give a boost to tourism in the State.

Performances by famous Bollywood playback singers, including Lucky Ali and KK (Krishnakumar Kunnath), a show by stand-up comedian Khayali, performances by folk artistes from the State, handloom and photography exhibitions and a fashion show would be among the key attractions of the festival.

“The winter festival will give a boost to the tourism sector, and will also serve as a big platform for local artistes to showcase their talents,” Mr Yadav said.
