Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Sunday allocated portfolios to his new council of ministers, keeping to self some key departments like Finance and Commerce and Industries.
Besides the two departments, Mr. Sangma also kept with him the PWD (Buildings), according to a notification issued last night.
UDP MLA and deputy chief minister B M Lanong was allotted Mining and Geology, Law, Animal Husbandry, Sports and Youth Affairs and Re-organisation.
Lone Independent in the Cabinet, A T Mondol, was given Power, Excise, Transport, Information and Public Relations.
Ampareen Lyngdoh, the only woman representative in the Assembly, was given Education and Tourism.
Among the five dissident Congress MLAs who were inducted into the ministry, H D R Lyngdoh got the Home (Police), PWD (Roads) and District Council Affairs.
Another dissident and deputy chief minister Rowell Lyngdoh was given Health, Labour and Parliamentary Affairs.
Augustine Marak will look after Food and Civil Supplies, while Prestone Tynsong was given Public Health Engineering and some smaller departments.
RC Laloo, a minister in previous D D Lapang government, retained his departments - Revenue and Disaster Management, Forest and Environment and Soil and Water Conservation.
