At a time when the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leadership is making its displeasure clear over former party general secretary Mukul Roy’s interactions with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, BJP State president Dilip Ghosh has admitted that the sidelined TMC leader is in touch with the central leaders of the party. Mr. Ghosh also did not rule out the possibility of Mr. Roy joining the BJP.

Mr. Roy could not be reached for comments.

“I came to know that Mr. Roy is in touch with our central leaders. We will consider it if he wishes to join BJP,” said Mr. Ghosh. Describing Mr. Roy as a “noted leader”, he said there was a “procedure to join BJP.”
