The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered a probe into the death of young boy in Indore who had bled to his death on Tuesday as the police insisted on recording his statement first instead of getting him medical assistance.

While ordering the probe, State home minister Umashankar Gupta warned of strict action against those responsible for the lapse that led to Ravi's death.

Ravi, along with a friend, was stabbed to death by two unknown men when he stood up to them for trying to molest his sister in Indore on Tuesday.

Bleeding, the duo called the Police which arrived in time but instead of getting them medical aid, took them to the Rajendra Nagar police station.

As the police recorded their statements, the duo reportedly bled for at least 40 minutes. Finally, when an ambulance arrived, Ravi was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, he couldn't make the distance and succumbed to his wound on his way to the hospital.

In their defence, the police said they did call for medical aid but it did not arrive in time.
