More nursing students lodge complaint against principal

May 15, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:18 am IST - CUTTACK:

The rift between the students and the principal of SCB hospital’s nursing school deepens further due to the hurried closure of the school for an indefinite period without giving conciliation a chance.

The first signs of aggravated hostility appeared on Saturday morning when 10 more students filed written complaints against Principal Kajal Rani Sinha at the local Mangalabag police station accusing her of harassing them physically and mentally.

The police have already booked the principal on a written complaint by a student.

Meanwhile, upping their ante against the principal, the nursing students on Saturday submitted a memorandum to District Collector N. C. Mishra here seeking his intervention to save them from the principal’s ‘onslaught’. “We have requested the Collector to suspend the principal pending an enquiry against her and take measures to reopen the school as soon as possible,” said the students after meeting Mr. Mishra.

The striking students may meet the Governor and Health Minister on Monday.
